You are cordially invited to an e-book launch via Zoom at 5:15 pm on April 14 for Valerie Hansen’s The Year 1000: When Explorers Connected the World— and Globalization Began, which Scribner will release on that day. Fabian Drixler will start off by asking Valerie questions and then we’ll open up Q+A to everyone.
Globalization began over one thousand years ago when a system of pathways first connected the different regions of the world in AD 1000. For the first time in history an object or message could travel all the way around the world. No one has found such an item—yet!— but archaeology could still surprise us.
