Come hear about Yale’s Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society, and enjoy some Insomnia cookies! 

Our organization aims to bring together a community of students and faculty who are passionate about the study and discussion of history. Throughout the year, we will be hosting a series of academic panels, social events, and professional workshops.

All years and majors are welcome. We hope to see you this Tuesday, September 30th at 7:00pm in WLH 208!

Iran Colloquium

The Iran Colloquium is an interdisciplinary forum for Yale graduate students and faculty working on Iran and the Persian cultural sphere (from the Ottoman world to South and Central Asia) in all areas of the humanities, social sciences, and law in the region. The Colloquium meets on Fridays at noon, and with five to six meetings per semester, it serves as a forum to discuss new publications, work in progress, new research projects, current affairs and other related issues.

Modern Europe Colloquium at Yale

The Modern European Colloquium is a venture at Yale University designed to build up a community of scholars and students broadly interested in the study of modern European history, including relationships between Europe and other parts of the world, both at Yale and in the surrounding region. The colloquium meets once a month  during the academic year, incorporating a variety of formats—small workshop papers, public lectures, forums around recent books, works-in-progress, graduate student presentations—that introduce new ideas and stimulate discussion.

Early Modern Interdisciplinary Graduate Lunch

The Early Modern Interdisciplinary Graduate Lunch is a biweekly gathering of faculty and graduate students from various departments that study diverse aspects of the early modern world. At our lunches, members present works-in-progress, share research problems, and discuss issues in professional development.
