Paul Kennedy awarded the Hattendorf Prize for Distinguished Original Research in Maritime History by the U.S. Naval War College

Rear Admiral Gardner Howe III, President of the U.S. Naval War College awarded the Hattendorf Prize for Distinguished Original Research in Maritime History to Professor Paul M. Kennedy of Yale University at Luce Hall, Nov. 20, 2014. The Hattendorf Prize honors and expresses appreciation for distinguished academic research and writing in the field of maritime history, and is the most prestigious award that a scholar can receive in the field from the U.S. Naval War College. The distinguished award includes a $10,000 cash prize and a bronze medal in addition to the framed award citation.

Two members of our department staff, Denise Scott & Marcy Kaufman, received the President’s Award for Staff Excellence

Two members of our History Department staff, Marcy Kaufman and Denise Scott, this week received the President’s Award for Staff Excellence.  They were honored for their work in developing a Summer Training Program for staff that helped to expand the perspective and skills of more than 1,000 staff members here at Yale.
