Majors take history on summer break

We checked in with some of our history majors to see what they were up to this summer; between work, internships and research projects our students used their history skills for a variety of exciting summer opportunities.  Students were asked: What were you doing this summer? Graduate Students in Native American History Share Research at American Philosophical Society

On August 11, 2017, two Yale Group for the Study of Native America (YGSNA) members, Holly Guise and Tiffany Hale, attended the inaugural Digital Knowledge Sharing Workshop hosted at the American Philosophical Society Library. Both presented and received feedback on their current research projects.

President Trump’s address to the United Nations General Assembly last week was noted for its aggressiveness, bellicosity and emphasis on U.S. sovereignty over multilateralism. Whatever one thinks of that approach, that wasn’t the most notable aspect. The speech made an open and outright threat to commit genocide: “The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.”
