Latin American History Speaker Series

The Latin American History Speaker Series aims to showcase ongoing research by leading historians of Latin America and create a space for dialogue about the future of the field. Essay by Denise Ho is included in new, open-access volume from Australian National University Press: Afterlives of Chinese Communism

An essay by Yale assistant professor Denise Ho is included in a new, open-access volume from Australian National University Press entitled Afterlives of Chinese Communism.  The book comprises essays from over fifty world-renowned scholars in the China field, from various disciplines and continents. It provides an indispensable guide for understanding how the Mao era continues to shape Chinese politics today. Each chapter discusses a concept or practice from the Mao period, what it attempted to do, and what has become of it since.
