Bio: 

Alexander Williams is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History at Yale and a J.D. student at Yale Law School. His research focuses on the history of the legal profession in postcolonial South Asia. He seeks to understand how lawyers function as powerful economic and social actors within the history of global capitalism. He is also interested in the history of the legal profession more broadly, both within and outside the common law world. To see his recently published work, click here
