Kahlil Greene '21 one of 30 top TikTok stars invited to White House press briefing about the war in Ukraine

On Thursday afternoon, 30 top TikTok stars gathered on a Zoom call to receive key information about the war unfolding in Ukraine. National Security Council staffers and White House press secretary Jen Psaki briefed the influencers about the United States’ strategic goals in the region and answered questions on distributing aid to Ukrainians, working with NATO and how the United States would react to a Russian use of nuclear weapons.

NYU-Yale American Indian Sovereignty Project Amicus Referenced During Oral Argument for Denezpi v. United States

On February 22, 2022, the Supreme Court heard oral argument in Denezpi v. United States and referenced recent work done by the NYU-Yale American Indian Sovereignty Project. The issue in the case is whether the double jeopardy clause precludes the federal government’s prosecution of the defendant, Merle Denezpi, for the federal-law offense of aggravated sexual abuse when Denezpi was previously convicted of the tribal-law offense of assault and battery in the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe’s Court of Indian Offenses.

American Indian Studies Dissertation Writing Fellowship 2022/23

The Yale Group for the Study of Native America (YGSNA) is pleased to invite applications for the 2022/23 Henry Roe Cloud Dissertation Writing Fellowship in American Indian and Indigenous Studies. Since 2010, the Roe Cloud Fellowship has helped to develop American Indian Studies at Yale by facilitating the completion of the doctorate by scholars working on pressing issues related to the American Indian experience. Scholars working on topics in Indigenous Studies that relate to the study of North American Indians are also encouraged to apply.
