Hannah Charak

20th century US; political history; institutions and governance; history of the American South; gender and sexuality studies
Bio:
Hannah Charak is a PhD student in the Department of History. Her research focuses on early federal responses to civil rights violations in mid-20th century America and has been supported by the Truman Library Institute. She is also completing a graduate certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Before coming to Yale, Hannah worked on public interest litigation as a paralegal at Hecker Fink LLP and was a researcher for the Peabody Award-winning podcast, Buried Truths. She holds a BA in History from Emory University, where she received the James Z. Rabun Prize in American History.
