Olivia Weeks

Olivia Weeks is a PhD student in history whose research focuses on the political economy of modern rural America. She has a BA in Social Studies from Harvard College, where she wrote an undergraduate thesis on the history of methamphetamine policing in Missouri and the origins of the current synthetic drug crisis. Since 2021 she’s been a regular contributor to the Daily Yonder, a national news source on rural life. Her favorite karaoke song is Kerosene by Miranda Lambert, and she was born and raised in West Frankfort, Illinois.
