Bio: 

Ting Li Quek is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History and East Asian Languages and Literatures. She is interested in the economic and social history of early and middle-period China. She is also exploring comparative studies between ancient China and Rome. Ting Li received her B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Peking University, China. She then went on to do an MPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (premodern China) at the University of Cambridge where she worked on the Han dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE) text, Yantielun 鹽鐵論(The Discourses on Salt and Iron).
