Molly Harris is a first year PhD student in the U.S. field. Broadly, she is interested in the social and political contours of late-twentieth century environmental and public health history.
Molly received a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in 2018 and a Master of Arts in American Studies from Columbia University in 2020. Her MA thesis, which was titled “‘I Don’t Plan to Sit Back and Let Anyone Kill My Children’: The Changing Politics of Public Health in Eastern Kentucky, 1980-2007,” explored the links between environmental pollution and the opioid epidemic.
